About Citadel
A small practice, held to a written standard.
Citadel Insurance is the private client practice of Nymble Insurance, an independent, licensed insurance agency based in Tampa, Florida. This page explains who is responsible for the advice and the writing on this site, how we are paid, and how our articles are researched and kept current.
A-601.1 The agency
Who we are
Citadel Insurance is a trade name of Nymble Insurance, a licensed insurance agency (NPN 21626709; Florida agency License #L131669). We are an insurance agency, not an insurance company: we advise on coverage and arrange it with insurers, and the issuing insurer provides the coverage. Our office is at 400 N Tampa St, 15th Floor, Tampa, Florida 33602, and we work with households across the United States by appointment, in person, by phone, or by video.
The practice is deliberately small. We work with households whose homes, collections, and exposures call for a coordinated program rather than a set of separate policies: waterfront and coastal homes, estates and multiple residences, collectors, and families relocating from one state to another. Coverage availability varies by state; we arrange coverage only where we hold the required licenses. Our agent of record is licensed for property and casualty insurance in six states (see Licensing).

- Every Insights article on this site
Sean Williams has been placing insurance for significant homes and the families who own them since 2002. As owner of Nymble Insurance and founder of Citadel, he built the practice around one conviction: households with more at stake deserve advice that matches it. That means replacement cost set by what it would take to rebuild, not market value, collections scheduled correctly, and liability limits that protect a whole balance sheet.
For more than two decades Sean has worked through the toughest parts of the market, including coastal windstorm, flood, waterfront estates, and the gaps that open between a home policy, an umbrella, and everything a family owns. He is licensed for property and casualty insurance in Florida and five other states, and he works directly with each client from the first review through every renewal.
Every Insights article is written or reviewed by Sean Williams before publication, and each one shows the date it was published and the date it was last updated. You can verify these licenses through the National Insurance Producer Registry or, in Florida, the Department of Financial Services licensee search.
A-601.3 Editorial standards
How we write and review these articles
- Primary sources first
Statements about Florida law cite the Florida Statutes. Statements about flood insurance rely on FEMA and the National Flood Insurance Program. We also draw on the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, the NAIC, and the Insurance Information Institute, and link to them where it helps the reader.
- No invented figures
We do not publish made-up statistics, premiums, testimonials, or case studies. Where a number appears, such as an NFIP limit or a statutory deductible option, it comes from the law or the program itself. Worked examples are labelled as arithmetic, not as quotes.
- No sponsored content
No insurer pays for, reviews, or approves our articles, and we do not name insurers as partners. Where the private client market is described, it is described generically.
- Dated and maintained
Each article shows when it was published and when it was last updated. We review articles when Florida law, NFIP rules, or market practice changes, and update the date when the substance changes.
- Plain about limits
Policy forms differ by insurer. Our articles describe how coverage commonly works, not how your policy works; we avoid guarantees and superlatives, consistent with Florida’s rules on insurance advertising (Fla. Stat. §626.9541).
Corrections: if you believe something on this site is inaccurate or out of date, please write to private@citadel-insurance.com.
A-601.4 Compensation
How we are paid
Like most independent agencies, Nymble Insurance is typically compensated by commissions paid by the insurers with which it places coverage. Commission rates can vary by insurer and product. You may ask us about our compensation at any time; see Licensing & Disclosures for more.
